Hi everyone, my name is Jarred Van Hauter. I have been Nick's best friend since 5th grade when he moved to Elk Grove Village.

Nick's life was unfortunately taken from us early on August 27th, 2023. Since his passing, the outreach and love shared by everyone that had the honor of knowing Nick has been immense. Nick was truly the model friend. A guy that would stop at nothing to make everyone around him feel welcome and loved. There was never a dull moment with him. I always thought that he could strike up conversation with just about anyone and they would leave with a smile.

Nick had plenty portions of his life that we can all reflect upon and know that he gave it his all in everything. From being a son, a friend, a marine, a student, you name it, he excelled at everything. To give him credit for all of these things is my honor and to serve his country for 5 years, shows the person that he was/is. To be able to endure all of these different adventures and to know that he excelled at all of them, will always make my heart happy.

Anybody that you talk to can paint a different picture of Nick and who he was as a person. Even though that is the truth, each and everybody that had the pleasure of knowing him can only say positive things about him. He was never someone you could stay mad at because he always pulled you back in.

Nick was always someone you could go to on any of your lowest moments and he would listen and give advice. To know and call Nick a friend was an honor to many because of his infectious character and charming capabilities. There are so many intricate details that many people know about Nick that I will not be able to fit in here, so if you do have great memories with him, please share those stories on this fundraiser.

This fundraiser is to help Nick's family with the expenses of everything that will come with giving him a proper send off. Give what you can and it is more than appreciated if you give anything at all. No amount of money will bring back our beloved Nick, but at least it can help the financial expenses that come with the passing of a loved one.

Nick will never be forgotten, his name will live on for eternity and I hope he knows that there were so many people that loved him and so many people that he impacted on his 24-year journey on earth. Please hold Nick's memories tight with you in this time of mourning and just know he would want you to celebrate his life and the countless amounts of accomplishments he earned.
