Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

We are the people of our Creator and with His promise to strengthen and help us; we too hear the calling of His people in need. Nickey  (Nick) Cross is our brother in dire need of our love right now. Nick is a devoted husband (Beth); father (Christopher and Nathaniel); son; brother; brother-in-law; uncle, as well as, a selfless friend to all who know him. On January 15, 2020 Nick had an emergency appendectomy. It was soon after his procedure that he learned that he had Bladder Cancer that had spread through his entire lymphatic system from his neck to his abdomen. This devastating Stage 4 Cancer diagnosis has required aggressive Chemotherapy whereby Nick struggles each day to fight this difficult battle. He finds that he is only a fraction of the big strong brick layer that he once knew. Being the loving man that he is, even in the midst of his own struggles, he worries more about the burdens and devastation this has placed on his family rather than the misery he is facing. That is who Nick is, the person who always puts others before himself. Although his burdens are many, his focus is on those that he loves so dearly and the effect his illness has put upon his family.

We are calling all that know Nick, Beth, Chis & Nathan to keep them in prayer. The Face of God can be seen through our works and deeds for one another. Won’t you join us in shining God’s light in Nick’s darkness. If you have the ability to make a donation to defray some of the exorbitant costs for Nick’s medical treatments and the bills that his family can no longer pay, so that our dear Nick may focus on his Cancer battle instead of the tremendous worry over his family’s survival. May God Bless all who hear the cries of those of us suffering and in dire need of a hand up and answer the call.

After nick had his surgery in January he just was not getting any better, I finally talked him into going back up to the hospital where they had done more testing and brought in a oncologist, that’s when the biopsy happened and we found that nick has bladder cancer that has spread throughout the lymphatic system from his neck to his abdomen. That  diagnosis changed our lives forever. Nick has lost 78lbs in 6 months it has taken such a toll on our whole family. I have not been able to go back to work for fear I would bring something home to him during this pandemic, his immune system is almost non existent, if he even catches the common cold that could kill him, and I just can not take that chance. He is my life, he is my world, he is a hero to his boys. he is the best husband  and is the best thing that has ever happened to me.  We adopted our boys and he has made such a difference in their lives. To watch him day after day has been a nightmare, I have no clue how he is going through this, the sickness, nausea, weakness and watching the life just being sucked right out of his body.  I just didn’t know how to start this or even write this.  I have never had to do anything like this before and I hope no one ever should have to go through anything like this ever. I had one of my dear friends write something for me because I just didn’t know what to do or say, I wanted everyone to hear this story through my family’s eyes and though an outsiders eyes .

So that is why I also put her words down because she has done a beautiful job. She herself has been through this and is a cancer survivor, my friend Jeannie.  We love you!
