Update
It is with great sadness that I must let you know that Stephanie was removed from life support last night, Sunday September 24th and passed away peacefully with Nick by her side. Please keep Nick in your thoughts and prayers with the passing of his wife of 27 years. Any donations received will continue to help Nick with medical costs and now funeral expenses.
Hello, Nick Courtright has been a Schetter Electric employee since 2015 coming up through the apprenticeship and now running projects as a foreman.
Nick and his wife Stephanie are going through some difficult times and we'd like to help them if at all possible. In 2021 Stephanie was hospitalized with blood clots in her lungs and heart failure. After multiple doctors appointments and a few hospitalizations Stephanie was diagnosed with CTEPH, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. When left untreated the life expectancy is one to three years. Her pulmonologist told them PTE surgery was hopeful to help Stephanie but it was out of network at UC San Diego.
On August 9, 2023 she was admitted to the hospital again and was in heart failure and acute kidney failure. After two weeks at Mercy Folsom she was transferred to UC San Diego. She underwent PTE surgery on August 25th. She has been fighting for her life since then in the ICU. Nick has remained by her side the entire time.
Once Stephanie is able to return home to Sacramento Nick will need to take several months off work to care for her as she recovers. It has been tough for Nick to watch the love of his life struggle to survive with family and friends so far away and he's looking forward to being home with her.
It's always difficult to ask for help but any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated by Nick and Stephanie.
