Nick and James's Mighty Convoy

Nick and James are intending to drive a second-hand ambulance to Lviv in November to deliver medical supplies with the organisation Mighty Convoy. The ambulances and the aid that we are taking is urgently needed and incredibly valuable to the medical teams on the ground in Ukraine. As the war continues, Ukraine’s medical system is under immense strain. Hospitals and first responders are overwhelmed, and many ambulances have been destroyed. These vehicles are vital for ferrying wounded soldiers and civilians from field stations to hospitals, often making the difference between life and death. It costs approximately £7000 to buy a second-hand ambulance or pick-up truck and cover the cost of fuel channel crossing, insurance etc to get them to Ukraine. We cover our own personal expenses and we are very willing to pay some of this cost ourselves, but we are also organising fundraising events.

There will be a quiz evening at All Saints Church, Hampton on Friday 15th August from 7.00pm until 10.00pm. Tickets cost £20 each which will cover the cost of a two-course meal and an entertaining and informative evening with all proceeds going towards the cost of the ambulance. As I write this, we are already nearing our original target of £7000. We have been amazed and humbled by everyone's incredible generosity. We have raised the target to £8000 which would cover the cost of a 4x4 which can negotiate more difficult terrain. If we end up raising even more, then we will pass that on to Mighty Convoy to enable others to volunteer. Thank you!
