Nicholas vs covid 19

Donation protected
Nicholas is 26. Relatively healthy. He played football regularly. He was super active. He is a father of one. Beautiful baby boy. 8 years old. Nov 2nd we left for a road trip to Texas from Minnesota. We arrived Nov 3rd and Nicholas had Covid-19 symptoms. He got tested and came out positive. He declined very rapidly. He was admitted in College Station to a hospital for covid pneumonia. He was released after only 2 days. We moved him from College Station to Dallas to have him seen. He was admitted then. He at that point went into septic shock. He was admitted into the covid unit and was in critical care. He went back and forth between the covid unit and the covid icu unit. On November 23rd he declined further and needed to be put on a ventilator in a medically induced coma. We then found out he was suffering from Cytokine Storm Syndrome. We allowed them to put him through a trial to treat it. It did not work. November 28th Nicholas was put on an ECMO machine. The have bypassed his lungs with hope that they could heal. Surgery was a success. We now are playing the waiting game. Nicholas has made such an impact on so many lives. It has become difficult to update everyone individually. Please follow our story. Pray for us. Pray for Nicholas and especially his son Donovan.
