Our dear friend Nicholas Lee, 18, died suddenly from cardiac arrest on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Nicholas had a huge heart in a small body - tiny but mighty, he said. He had an infectious smile and a contagious laugh. Nicholas had encyclopedic knowledge of dinosaurs, Pokemon and all things Transformers. He was an amazing soul, lost too soon.

 

His mother Mary Jane and grandmother Jane championed Nicholas' complicated health issues since his birth, and supported him through a full and happy life.

 

Nicholas flourished at Lincoln Center Preschool, El Sierra Elementary School and O'Neill Middle School in Downers Grove, Illinois. Nicholas graduated from Downers Grove South High School on Sunday, just 3 days before his death. He zoomed past everyone in the halls at school in his motorized wheelchair, and was always quick with a sly joke. He touched far more lives than he likely ever knew. Our hearts are broken without him.
