A note from his Dad...

My Son NICK I’ve lost him… It’s real…I’ve lost my son NICK …We all have lost him….We all have lost a good friend…. There’s no sugar-coated way of saying it . ..It Hurts…the pain is real. NICK was that guy who never wanted to disappoint anyone especially me! So after these last few days of friends and family showing up to our home and the 1000’s of phone calls and text messages I have received it’s becoming pretty clear that a whole lot of other people felt the same way as I do about him, so I’m sure seeing this outpouring of support would bring tears to his eyes as it certainly has mine and his mother… There is no good way to say any of this…I just don’t have the ability to put into words the pain I’m feeling now…There is a huge hole in my soul now I guess… I’ve lost both my Mother and Father as well as my Brother but the pain of losing NICK just overshadows all the other pain I’ve ever suffered in my life. He wasn’t just my son he was my friend…No parent should ever have to bury their child! I find myself sitting here on my porch today staring at the seat that NICK sat in every morning…I was blessed to have him here with me…We would sit here most mornings with our coffee (not a word was spoken until that first cup of coffee)and then talk about everything…I am so very thankful to have had him in my life… NICK was a man of honor and integrity and it showed….I can’t tell you how many times I’ve received a call from one of my customers thanking me for the work he performed at their home…Things like “He’s so polite!” “He really did a great job!” “You certainly raised him right!” I could go on and on but if you are someone who knew him, you already know this to be true… NICK was an amazing son and a wonderful brother who will be missed by all who knew him. If you are someone who knows me and my family you already know that we aren’t a wealthy family and the donations that you have all given us have helped more than you can possibly know… I can’t put into words how thankful I am that you helped me send off my son with a proper funeral and I am forever in your debt.
