Nicholas Chiu's World University Games Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
I'm Nicholas (Nick) Chiu, a badminton player from Portland Oregon. I was selected through Collegiate Nationals to play for Team USA Badminton in the World University Games (Chengdu) this June. This is the first time I have qualified for Team USA, and also the first time anyone from Oregon has qualified for the national badminton team; I hope to make the state proud. The high cost of attending this tournament, however, makes it difficult for me to go solely through personal funding. If I were to reach the funding goal, I hope to take part of it to train before the tournament.
Since I was seven years old, badminton has been my passion and a large part of my life. I have trained, competed, and won numerous titles around the world, and plan to continue doing so. When I was thirteen years old, my family moved from Boston to Taiwan, that same year, the World University Games were held in Taiwan and I was able to meet the USA badminton team there. Watching them play inspired me to train and compete to be like them. 5 years later, I made that dream come true. I am now a senior, playing Varsity squash and JV tennis on top of badminton at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, making it the first time an Exonian has made Team USA Badminton. I also plan on continuing my studies and badminton career at the University of Washington this coming year.

All donations are welcome and will go directly to training and participating in this prestigious tournament. Thank you!!
