Nicholas Castle's Journey to Healing
Donation protected
On February 27th, our sweet Nicholas Daniel Castle left for a snowboarding trip to Colorado with his cousins to celebrate his 24th birthday. On March 2nd, they were snowboarding at Breckinridge Ski Resort when a bystander found Nicholas on the slope unconscious and unresponsive. He had gone into cardiac arrest. She performed CPR on him until ski patrol could get to him. They had to use a defibrillator to shock him 3 times and get his heart beating again. He was then life-flighted to St Anthony Hospital where he was admitted into the ICU. He was immediately put into a medically induced coma and put on a ventilator. By March 4th he was awake and was able to be taken off the ventilator. He is still suffering from short-term memory loss, and heart arrhythmias and is very confused by the situation, understandably. They are still running tests on his heart to find the reason why his heart stopped. We still do not know but are hopeful and have faith that God will pull him through this.
Nicholas is a wonderful man and has always gone above and beyond for family, friends, and even strangers never expecting anything in return. He has such a giving, caring heart and now it is our turn to take care of him. Nicholas is his own boss and has been balancing landscaping and hot shotting. We are not sure when he will be fully back to himself and working again. Because of this, he will not be able to cover his current bills and medical expenses.
Even though Nicholas is improving, he has a long road to recovery ahead of him. God is not finished with him and we have seen that through the miracle of God because he’s here with us. God is good. His recovery is the most important thing to us right now and we do not want money to add to the stress that he is already under. He has a huge heart and struggles to accept help of any kind. But in times like this, we know that the help of others is just another blessing from God. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
