Dear Friends:
Jim and Genevieve Luce here. We are writing today to ask for your assistance in helping Nicholas get situated with the medical care he needs to survive.
A little history:
Nick is a esophagial cancer survivor since 2002.
Nearly 20 years ago, his treatment closed his throat, and as a result he cannot swallow at all, and the lower octaves of his voice are gone. He has been surviving through tube-feeding 100% of the time since 2016 and much of the time from 2002-2016.
In August 2022. he returned to the United States after separating from his wife in Berlin. Genevieve and I offered him sanctuary, and he has been living in my office for 10 months with no real progress toward finding treatment here in the Coachella Valley.
After searching locally for all the basics of care starting with medical treatment, transportation, & a place to live, it has become clear that he needs to be in Los Angeles at Cedars Sinai, which is where his medical team is.
His list of needs is long, however it starts with a place to live near downtown Los Angeles, where he can start building a new life for himself whether he ever swallows again or not.
He is comfortable here with us, but there's no progress for him medically, socially or emotionally without a realistic chance of a new start where he can have a chance to thrive.
We are at the end of what we can see that can be done for him here in Palm Springs. At age 62, he needs time and money to migrate from a dead-end existence here in our in-home office in Palm Springs, where he can have a chance at life again.
We are looking for 100 $50 donations to give a brother a new life.
Can you spread the word, a little cash and a whole boatload of love?
Thank you.
