Nicholas Alba Memorial Fund
Donation protected
As many of you know, in March of this year our beloved sibling/son Nicholas was diagnosed with advanced gastrointestinal and peritoneal cancer. This news came after months of testing to determine what was causing his many health issues.
If you know Nicholas, you know how much he cares for his family, and how he always brings a light into every room. Always the jokester, as well as the person with whom you could have a genuine conversation.
He is such a fighter (and probably the most stubborn person you have ever met!), so he took that strength to fight the diagnosis head on with everything he had.
Unfortunately, in early November, we discovered that the cancer had started growing in his bowels and had spread so quickly that treatment was no longer an option. Even with this new diagnosis, he kept his spirits up.
The decision was made to move him back to Toronto, and last week he arrived at Mount Sinai Hospital. After being admitted, we got the news that he would require palliative care, and this would lead to the end of his life.
While we understand that financial situations are especially tough at this time, our family would immensely appreciate any donations to help with medical costs, end of life care, and his final resting place.
Nicholas never stopped caring and worrying about his family, even in the most difficult times when others would only focus on themselves. We believe that he deserves that same love and care back, tenfold.
In lieu of flowers, Nicholas would appreciate donations to his family to help with expenses. Any amount raised above his goal will be set aside for his nephew Jaiden.
