It is finally here! It is time for Jake and I to head out on the open road to travel the United States. I think both Jake and I can agree that it been a challenging and formative last few months. Amidst working full-time jobs, applying to colleges, and finding time for our art and skateboarding we also had to plan for a 6-month trip that would take us, hopefully, to all the 48 continental United States. Now that the time is here we are both immensely excited and nervous. Neither of us has ever been on the road for anywhere close to that long, which brings both its benefits and difficulties. However, what we lack in experience we most certainly make up in attitude and excitement.
We both grow ever more ready to hop in the van and go experience the wonders of each state and the people that live there, recovering memories from places from our past as well as creating new ones.
We have dedicated a year of our lives to this amazing journey, working and raising money to support our lives on the open road. But now it is your turn to help.
While we have worked hard to save up our money we have run into a few difficulties, the main one being auto repairs. Sight unseen, as many car problems are, we ran into a couple mechanic issues that needed fixing in order for us to safely depart. While not catastrophic, these repairs along with other necessary purchases certainly reduced our funds. So much so that we are reaching out to you, our loving friends and family.
We so greatly appreciate any and all contributions. We also acknowledge everyone who has reached out offering a warm bed or laundry services. Even sending best wishes our way means the world to both of us. We hope to soon have a website where we can upload our photography as well as update all of you on our travels and upcoming states and stops.
