Translate and Publish a Rare, Ancient Tibetan Buddhist Text for Free Distribution
During my last trip to India I discovered an exciting book by Chone Lama Drakpa Shedrup, a famous Tibetan Buddhist lama (teacher). It’s an introductory text that helps young monks learn and apply the basics of Tibetan Buddhist epistemology and logic, explaining dura (bsdus grva), or collected topics. Seeing that it is a book that could be extremely useful for Buddhist practitioners, I decided to translate it.
I made an excellent start, but it now needs to be completed and the translation polished. As I don’t have publishers vying to give me the $6,000 I need as support to complete and freely distribute this Tibetan Buddhist Text, I thought to try a GoFundMe campaign to reach out for help.
Once the translation is finished, I plan to give it away for free by posting it on my website for download. Then I’ll write a book that explains the text, and how we can apply it to our daily lives. I really believe that logic is a tool we can all use, every day, to make decisions that bring us genuine happiness. I’m also hoping to use some of the money for travel and promotional expenses, to market both this book and my first book, Easy Logic; Tibetan Wisdom for Happiness and Success which was published last year (available at Standing on the Sky Press and on Amazon).
