My name is Niamh Gallacher but most friends in (ice) hockey call me Nugget. 

I have been playing hockey since I was about 6 years old, and now at the age of 14 I've managed to make it onto the Melbourne Ice Women's Team (MIW)!!! See MIW 



MIW play in the Australian Womens Ice Hockey League which is a Senior National League with teams in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. This is the highest level of domestic hockey here in Australia, and the MIW are the reigning champions and it is a real privileged to be selected to be on the squad.

Unfortunately it is a niche sport here in Australia, and although MIW have some great and generous team sponsors, there is still money that is required from each player ontop of this pay for flights, accommodation, ice time etc

I have had a fantastic year of hockey so far, which includes playing for the Steelers hockey club in Dunedin, NZ late last year (Silver), playing for the Victorian State Team at the Defris Championships in Perth in Aug (Gold), and Tier 2 National Womens Championship with the Melbourne Chargers (Gold). I am looking to continue the success with MIW this year and return the cup to Melbourne!



I would be so grateful if anyone would be able to help me (and my parents) with funding to allow me to continue to play.
