NI Veterans Campaign Fund

British Military Veterans have been fighting to stop the prosecution and persecution of of veterans who served in Northern Ireland between 1969 and 1999. Soldiers who were previously investigated and cleared are being repeatedly taken to court without new evidence for political gain. We have been self - funding for four years but the continuing administration costs make it difficult to pressure a well funded opponent (the government).

I am asking for costs to develop a continuous publicity campaign prior to the next round of court cases in 2021 and to coordinate and generate more pressure on behalf of the victims of this persecution.

In the last five years we have organised protest marches all over the UK, letter campaigns to Members of Parliament, funding for legal support, pressured the Director of Public Prosecutions Northern Ireland to step down, delivered two letters of protest and one legal argument to 10 Downing Street and we are still working hard. We were influential in the last general election and were promised support. All this has been managed from our own pockets. Without financial support we will eventually lose our ability to fight.
