Jeremy’s Journey with Colon Cancer

Donation protected
Hey everyone! Kira here. As most of you may know by now, before Thanksgiving, Jeremy was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer that had metastasized. He was able to get an appointment at MD Anderson in Texas in an effort to get the best treatment plan possible. The plan is to do eight rounds of aggressive chemo then a follow up appointment back in Texas. After that, they will determine if this is something that can be surgically removed or if they need to begin a lifelong chemo maintenance plan.

Jeremy is the love of Greg’s life and he wants to be at every single appointment, as well as be in a position where Jeremy never feels alone. That being said, he’s going to have to take a step back from work, and Jeremy will obviously not be working either. Someone should never have to make such a difficult choice of choosing between supporting their loved one and having to pay bills.

When my daughter was in the hospital, the GoFundMe that was started for her meant I could spend every single minute with her. It meant I didn’t have to worry about the cost of outside meals since I couldn’t go home to cook, or paying my mortgage and monthly bills while unable to work.

I want Greg to be able to have this opportunity with Jeremy as well. I can’t think of two better people in this world. As a health science teacher, Jeremy’s dedication to his craft has touched the lives of so many students, and Greg’s selflessness has proven him a boss who is caring, empathetic, and someone who has always prioritized others over himself. Anyone who meets Jeremy and Greg can instantly see the love they have for each other and their positive impact on the lives of others. Through their compassion and kindness, these two have provided me and so many others with an incredible place of employment, a truly beautiful friendship and the ability to have a nice life with my daughter.

Now that the roles have reversed, I will do anything I can to help them, even though I know they’ll never ask. If you feel the same way, and feel compelled to help, please do! Jeremy really enjoys cooking and has expressed that he wants to keep cooking until he can’t anymore. I will figure out a meal train plan once he tells me to. The biggest thing that I want to ask for right now is prayers, positive thoughts, and manifestations. These two mean the world to me and I don’t want them to have any added stress during this difficult time.
