Helping a brother

Hello everyone, my name is Matthew Westerfield. A couple weeks ago my good friend and brother from another mother, Jim Mauck, had a severe aortic aneurysm. He was rushed to the hospital and luckily they were able to stabilize him. He spent a little more than a week under heavy sedation and is now in recovery. With physical therapy and proper diet, they will be able to run a series of tests on his heart and diagnose the best plan for him.

This may include heart surgery, or any of the many different options available to people who have suffered an aneurysm.

There are other contributing factors in his current health situation, none of which I wish to discuss at this moment, but make no mistake, my brother is in for a long road to recovery.

We aren’t sure if or when he will be able to return to work and at this very moment, he is faced with the real possibility of losing his home as well as mounting medical debt. Unlike a lot of people, Jim doesn’t have the financial means to take extended periods without employment. He and his family do not have the ability to absorb these unexpected expenses.

I’ve seen gofundme’s succeed in helping people out of serious emergencies such as this one, that is why I am turning to you for help. Jim is a proud man, and rightly so, I’m not sure he feels he is even deserving of this help, that is part of what a near death experience can do to someone. So I’m stepping up for him and asking you for help.
