NHS Healthcare Worker Needs Our Support

One of my best friends is a single mother and an A&E healthcare worker, on the frontline of the Covid-19 outbreak in London for the past eighteen months.

I fundraised for her previously last year, at the height of the pandemic, and you wonderful people really helped her out. But unfortunately the impact of the job on her mental health, alongside singlehandedly raising three children - one of whom is diagnosed with ADHD and autism - meant she has had to take time off from work.

Working on the frontline of the NHS Covid response as a healthcare worker, her mental health has been severely affected, and she has just started therapy for depression and anxiety. She has had to take time off from work for this reason, to focus on her mental health, as well as that of her autistic child, who requires constant supervision at the moment.

Unfortunately, due to taking this time off work, she's struggling to pay her rent and bills, and to buy food. She's been talking about having to cancel Eid, which is coming up towards the end of July. So I’m starting another fundraiser for her and her kids so she can at least provide for her kids on Eid. I’m hoping to raise enough that she doesn’t feel pressurised to go back to full-time work until she and her kid are in a better place.

Every penny donated will go directly to my friend.
