Hi, my name is Rebecca and I am Mum to Hannah who is 13 in a few days time.

Hannah has been suffering with Apthous Mouth Ulcers since she was aged 5, (17 were counted a few months ago!), plus pains in her joints, only to be told she would grow out of them.

I am still trying to get answers as to why Hannah has suffered so much, with no solutions forthcoming for now nearly 9 years! She has also been advised by her Dentist that she requires 4 teeth to be extracted and braces to be fitted.

Hannah was so brave and managed to have one tooth extracted, but, the scenario with the pain, the tugging, the whole environment was just too overwhelming for her. I was advised to refer to the NHS in order for Hannah to be sedated and have the final 3 teeth to be extracted. To my shock the NHS waiting time for this alone is 18 months plus! She needed the teeth out ASAP, not in nearly two years time.

I was advised by the Dentist that the only option would be to go private. This is at a cost to ME! She is a CHILD! She has additional needs and as such is not Hannah's nor my fault that she could not manage the extractions at the local dentist, which would have been through the NHS at no charge.

The delays with the NHS go as far as to the EHCP I had to fight for, and this was finalised after a two year battle.

Hannah's support from CAMHS again she has been on the waiting list for over a year to receive support and treatment. Hannah is still waiting.

I cannot afford the £1400 (£800 sedation & £600 extractions) and as such I have been forced to take out a loan, of which have to repay monthly. I cannot sustain this, but, what is a MUM to do, when the very system she has paid into since aged 16 (worked full time throughout my career until ill health I had to stop a few years ago!) to still have to PAY for my CHILD to receive medical treatment.

PLEASE, I am embarrassed but angry, desperate but humble, and just want what is the best my for my gorgeous, brave, courageous, resilient daughter.
