Introduction:
Hello, my name is Matthew.
Our family/friend group is raising funds for our great friend Nha Tran, and his family, to help provide financial assistance due to the unfortunate event that has recently occurred.
Incident:
On January 19th, while getting their children ready for school, our friend Nha suffered a stroke and went into critical condition due to Cerebral Hematoma in the Basal Ganglia and Thalamus region of his brain.
Luckily, he was hospitalized immediately and taken to the ICU, but unfortunately, he still lost 20% of his brain function.
The blood clot was measured at 7mm in diameter and caused paralysis to the right side of his body.
His speech and mobility were compromised, as well as the ability to breathe on his own, which left him in a vegetative state.
On January 27th, Nha suffered more swelling and required Craniotomy surgery after many unsuccessful attempts to relieve the pressure in his brain.
Part of his skull had to be removed to allow the swelling to subside.
Thankfully, this brought the pressure down and after many days, he was slowly able to breathe on his own and regain some motor skill function.
On February 15th, the hospital decided to discharge him.
His wife Trinh is currently taking care of him full-time at home, and while it may seem that Nha is recovering, the doctors state that the blood clot will about 6 months to a year to completely go away.
The doctors also state that his life is currently threatened by the chance of another stroke that could occur at any time.
Due to this, the doctor has decided to keep his skull in its current status to ensure he recovers quickly, then he will undergo surgery again to have it replaced.
Nha will require extensive home medical care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
The expenses for the surgeries, hospitalization, tools, therapy sessions, etc. have added up and since Nha is the only income provider, this is creating an immense financial burden for him and his family.
Request:
If possible, please keep our friend in your thoughts, hopes, and prayers and please consider donating anything that you can to help Nha and his family.
Anything and everything helps and is greatly appreciated.
Thank you and have a safe and blessed day.
