After battling Stage 4 breast cancer for the last couple of years, my wife Natalia passed away in September.
Natalia dedicated her professional life to taking care of others; first as a health volunteer and teacher for the Peace Corps, and then as an emergency room nurse in Baltimore and New Haven. But for the last 14 years, her focus has been on a merging of the two...empowering emergency healthcare professionals in Tanzania with better training and more resources.
When we moved back to Tanzania in 2009, the first place she went looking to help was the emergency room at Muhimbili National Hospital. I'm not sure she ever left.
In honor of her tireless support of the Tanzanian emergency medical system, your donation will be used to fund a Tanzanian non-profit working in that field or to finance education for promising Tanzanian health professionals.
