Hey all, it's me, Esteblook. I need help, and below is my story and how to help. Please read if curious. I will make a video soon.
THE START
On May 31, 2025, I tore my ACL playing basketball with friends. This happened at a very inconvenient time in my life. I left my part-time food service job of 5 years and found employment in this new place that I was happy to be at and saw myself there for the rest of my life. Full-time, great pay, insurance, great environment. I was happy there, but because of the tear, I was sadly let go and told to reapply when I get better. Now, why didn't my job help if they offered health insurance? Well, that's because you had to be working at that company for 2-3 months to qualify and apply for the benefits. I was sadly injured less than 2 months at my new job to receive any benefits.
What took so long?
The emergency room I was taken to couldn't help much without insurance, so they applied me to an emergency one, got a few X-rays, and told me I had just sprained it and I should be back to normal in 3 weeks. A week later, I tried to contact the emergency insurance they gave me, only to realize the hospital wrote down the wrong social security number. I tried to get it fixed, but I was being sent back and forth between the insurance and the hospital. I tried to live life like normal, thinking the doctor said I'd heal in 3 weeks, but I hadn't. I went to walk-in doctors who couldn't help me without proper insurance, even when I offered to pay out of pocket thanks to my savings and everything. Eventually, I went to a doctor who agreed to help me and found me a cheap place to receive an MRI so we could really see the issue. I went there, paid out of pocket, and a week later found out I had
really torn my ACL. I didn't know much about injuries, but even I heard a torn ACL is career-ending in sports. And I just shut down for a bit processing the information. I cried in my car, wondering how I would get a $25,000 surgery with no insurance.
After/Now
I applied for insurance online, and because of my unemployment, I finally got accepted. In the mail, I got to choose my insurance, but I was unsure. Eventually, an insurance was chosen for me. I finally got to see a proper doctor, I got checked, and he sent me to a specialist. The specialist told me he'd operate, and now we are here, I am operated and bedridden.
How you are helping
For the past months, I've been living off of my savings and freelance editing for friends and people who wanted my work. I charged cheap because I wasn't the best. I made content too to help me cover other things in life. I will admit, I was a bit irresponsible with my money. I would just buy food most days I didn't want to cook, bought small trinkets and clothes I shouldn't have, and eventually, it went downhill. I started to be smart late last year, but by then it was too late. Editing and content creation barely scraped me by, and my savings were going lower and lower. Because of my new job, I was giving my parents $600 monthly to help with rent. I took care of the phone and internet bill for the family. But after a while, my parents told me to focus on just the phone and internet, and if they needed money desperately, they'd ask. But now I can't even cover that, especially since I
can't really edit or create content at the moment. I want to raise the money to help cover me for a few months until I can start editing and creating content again. And hopefully apply for a new temporary job after I can walk to eventually go back to my old job by the end of the year.
The Bills
$210 phone bill
$200 to help family with rent
$120 internet bill, or $250 to catch up since I'm behind on it.
$530 for all that, or $710 to catch up
For 3 months, I'd need
$2,130 to be fully caught up and not fall behind.
$2,200 to be able to at least live more at ease.
Thank you so much, if you could share it I'd greatly appreciate it
