Help Buddy Walk Again
Donation protected
Kenneth (Buddy) Martin, 35, is father of two young children, ages 3.5 and 2 years old. He is a Santa Rosa local man with strong ties to the Sonoma County community.
On February 28, 2014, Buddy was driving home from work when his truck was hit head-on by a then-18 year old boy in another truck who wasn't paying attention. Buddy’s head hit the steering wheel so hard on impact that it bent the steering wheel. Buddy's life, his then wife's life, and his family's lives changed forever that day. Buddy sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and now must deal with constant pain from this injury.
On June 5, 2020, Buddy was returning home from an AA meeting on his motorcycle when he was involved in a car vs motorcycle accident. He sustained two broken hips, fractured pelvis, femur broken in multiple spots, broken tibia and fibula, nine broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a broken thumb.
After a week alone in ICU at Memorial Hospital, Buddy was transferred to the Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center in Vallejo. There he learned to live in a wheelchair as the first step in his long and difficult road to walking again.
Buddy is receiving California State Disability, which will in no way cover the expenses incurred while learning to walk again and regaining the independence he longs for once again.
I am asking for donations to help Buddy so he can focus on healing and not worry about finances. Big or small, any donation would be gratefully appreciated.
