Liberia's 14-year civil war left scars on its people and its land. For many of us, the roar of helicopters during that time evoked fear and anxiety. I remember when I was growing up, I was afraid of the sound of power saws—a sound that reminded me of helicopters—instilled a deep sense of dread.

When I first saw an airplane up close during my travels to the U.S., I was struck by its elegance and the boundless possibilities it represented. My dream is to turn this passion into a reality through Simba Aviation—a flight school dedicated to turning fear into hope and resilience through education. Our mission is to educate and inspire future aviators, starting with a school in the U.S. that will offer affordable flight training to children and adults. This will allow us to build the experience and insights needed to eventually establish a flight school in Liberia.
