My name is Khalil, a 20-year-old Palestinian from Gaza. Since I was a child, I’ve had a big dream: to become a professional goalkeeper. Football has always been my passion. I spent countless hours training, diving for saves, and defending my team’s goal. On the pitch, I felt free, as if the walls of the siege disappeared for a moment.

But moments of joy have become rare. One tragic day, a bombing destroyed my family’s home—the place where I grew up and where I practiced my skills. That day, my dream seemed farther away than ever.

Life in Gaza is full of struggles. Access to clean water is a daily battle; we rely on expensive filtered water that my family can barely afford. Food is scarce, and we often worry about how to make what little we have last. The siege has turned Gaza into an open-air prison, stealing not only our resources but also our dreams.

Despite everything, I hold on to hope. I dream of a better life beyond the siege, where I can continue my journey as a goalkeeper, complete my education, and build a brighter future for my family. I imagine standing on a real football field, free from the barriers of the blockade, playing the game I love and living with dignity.
