My aunt's home was completely destroyed yesterday in a landslide. It collapsed into the river, and most of her family's belongings are gone. She is devastated, and so am I, as we have suffered enough loss already.
Two years ago, my Mom passed away. Cancer. It was, by far, the most difficult time of my life. My family and I still struggle with her passing, and we think about her everyday.
Growing up, my Mom instilled in us the importance of family, and even though her family lived thousands of miles away, we still loved them like they were here. She made sure of it.
Last summer, we decided to visit my Mom's hometown (Can Tho, Vietnam), and we got to meet her entire side of the family for the first time ever. It was a very humbling experience. I only wish my Mom was there with us. I miss her so much.
While in Vietnam, my aunts and uncles all took turns hosting and cooking dinner for us. This really meant a lot since we knew they didn't have the means to offer us much. They live off the land, raising their own chickens, planting their own vegetables, and farming their own fish. They all work so hard and earn very little money, if any, so cooking for us was a big deal. We were very grateful.
I'll never forget the hot and sour soup my aunt made for us. It was so delicious! We gathered in a circle and sat on the floor outside her patio eating, singing, and celebrating family. It was nice.

Her home was built right above the river, so we had a nice view too. All that is now gone. The patio we ate on, the kitchen we cooked in, the living room we relaxed in, gone. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to come home to a home that's no longer there.

So, I am asking for your help. Help my aunt rebuild her home and her life. Help us show her how much we care. Help us give her the love and support my Mom would have wanted us to provide.
Please, any amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated. No donation is too small, as every bit helps. Thank you so much!
