David Lovato
February 29, 1973 - August 6, 2015
Hey everyone, this is my dad, David Lovato, and myself, Alec Gurule-Lovato. My dad was born on February, 29th, 1973 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A few months before I was born, he was invloved in a motorcycle accident and suffered injuries that caused him to be confined to a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. My dad had a list of health problems following the accident and had to adjust to living life as a paraplegic. But that did not stop him one bit from him being the best father that he could be and giving me everything that he could. To my dad I meant the world and I was his everything. He never let the wheelchair stop him or us from doing anything. When I was a kid, we would still play catch with a football or baseball, he would take me to the skatepark and he would showoff doing wheelies in his wheelchair, we built model planes and rockets and would fly and shoot them off at the nearby parks, we had several r/c gas powered trucks and cars that we were always a blast to play with and race with each other. He also absolutley loved to paint, and it was probably his favorite thing to do in his spare time. Anytime I would go to visit him, he was always working on another piece of his to add to his gallery, which covered nearly every inch of wall in his appartment . My dad was a great man who really appreciated all the little things in life and really truely loved his friends and family. He always wanted us to come over so that we could grill up some big fat steaks or a nice rack of ribs and just hangout. Everyone enjoyed his company and the good vibes he brought anywhere he went.
Sadly, my dad is no longer with us anymore, as he unexpectedly passed away just recently on August 6, 2015. He was very loved and will be missed. He went through more tough times in his 42 years than anyone should in a lifetime, and we are all thankful that we had the chance to be part of his life and for learning from him what it means to go through adversity and still come back smiling. My dad is now with God and I know that he can walk again and that his spirit is still here with all of us, and for that I am truly grateful.
I am creating this gofundme page in hopes that it will help out with the costs of the funeral expernses so that we can give him the beautiful service that he deserves and so our famliy and friends can pay their respects, recall all of the good times and happiness he brought around, and most importantly, to say goodbye to him for the final time. Thank you for your help and prayers.
