Connie has had a rough start to life. At only a year old, she was rescued in Texas from an extremely abusive home. The experiences she had there were horrific and resulted in her losing an eye, a leg, and having permanent damage to her snout and jaw - along with infections and malnourishment. But this sweet girl's strong spirit has never given up, and she was found by amazing people who worked to get her as healthy as possible before she made her way to a permanent foster program at Pawsitively Furever in Canada.

In Canada, Connie amazed her fosters with her joyful spirit, gentle affection, and love of the world. Despite everything that she experienced, Connie wants nothing more than to bond with the people and pets around her and fully experience the new, safe world she's in. It was almost fated that she met Jasmine, who was willing to adopt this girl and give her the calm, loving, safe life she deserves - and Connie quickly worked her way straight to everyone's hearts.

Now, just a few months into her new life, Connie is experiencing some significant and unexpected medical problems. She had a sudden, multi-hour nosebleed in July, and imaging investigating the cause has revealed that she requires surgery to remove internal bone fragments that are causing recurring damage, infections, and breathing issues, among other serious concerns. Jasmine is doing everything she can to care for her new companion, but the costs are very high. Connie is a member of the family, and the people who love both Jasmine and Connie want to do something to help support this truly special dog and the woman who loves her. Vet costs have already surpassed $3000 and are expected to increase by at least another $5,500 when she receives her surgery in October. Unfortunately, these expenses are not covered by Connie's pet insurance. Any donation amount is appreciated. All funds will go to covering medical costs to get Connie the care she needs.
