Rebuilding My Life
Donation protected
To rebuild my life, I am in urgent need of your assistance. I am the photojournalist Mohammed Zaanoun, and I have been covering the wars on Gaza for the past twenty years. I have sustained serious injuries during my work, but I never surrendered and fought to ensure that my family could live with dignity.
Until this cursed war on Gaza began in 2023, I had built my home and business as a freelance journalist and photographer.
Here is my Instagram page - https://www.instagram.com/m.z.gaza/
My family is originally from Yafa. They are refugees from 1948 who escaped to Gaza City. My house (that is not destroyed) was right next to the beach. I married my wife 15 years ago and since then we had 4 kids. I worked with many of the biggest channels and news agencies.
While covering an attack on Shajayia in 2006, as part of my work as a journalist for Ma’an News Agency I suffered an injury by shrapnel and spent a year in hospital. I was left with scars on my face and stomach, injuries for which I still need treatment.
For over twenty years I worked tirelessly under war conditions to uncover the atrocities. Since October 2023 I have been covering the war, just as I’ve done in the past.
Your assistance is very important to me. In this war, I lost everything. What I had built became a pile of rubble after the Israeli planes destroyed my house and my office. I am left with nothing now, but I will not surrender. I have decided to start again, and with your help, I will continue. That is why I ask you, with great hope, to help me rebuild my life.
The funds from this fundraiser will be sent to my friend, Omer, in France and from there will be transferred to me.
Thank you very much.
