In loving memory of Sheila Porter Dragan

My name is Betty Hejka and I am here to tell the story of our beloved family member, Sheila Porter Dragan who is in need of your help.

In the spring of 2022, Sheila sustained a series of falls and was diagnosed with a tumor pressing down on her spinal cord requiring immediate surgery.

Sheila walked into the hospital with assistance for surgery and now finds herself a paraplegic. This is her “new normal”…chair bound unable to twist, bend or help with her own personal care from the waist down.

Between her history of juvenile diabetes, paralysis, and the need for personal assistance, her situation has become more complicated.

Due to subsequent post surgical hospitalizations it has become difficult for her husband Ron Dragan to both work full time and tend to Sheila’s needs and yet he does it all with no complaints. He reduced his work hours, but the bills are now mounting and exhausting their savings.

Sheila keeps a positive attitude despite the physical and emotional toll it has taken on her and her family.

On February 22, 2023, Sheila earned her wings and quietly passed away. She is now free from worldly pain, but missed beyond measure.

The focus of the GoFundMe for Sheila Dragan now is to ease the financial burden of both medical bills and funeral expenses.

Sometimes it takes a village of concerned people to make a difference in the lives of others.
