Update 3/9/2023:
I want to thank everyone for their donations. It means so much and provides a lot of hope and ease during this painful and anxiety provoking time. The uncertainty during this time is very upsetting but all of your support has brought some ease and warmth to the situation.
As of March 9th Nathans situation is still kind of up in the air. He is out of the hospital and having to deal with this injury from home now which has its pros and cons.
He will continue to have the catheter in until April and when it is removed the doctors will go back in with a camera and see how everything looks and figure out where to go from there. His bleeding has lessened but continued since the injury, which is concerning but it seems the doctors are not 100% sure what to do about it at this time given the uniqueness of his injury. This is obviously causing a lot of anxiety in addition to the pain he is still experiencing. The hope is that the bleeding will fully stop on its own and that he will heal on his own with time so that he wont need surgery. In the future he may need surgery though if he develops strictures or other issues. Right now he just needs to rest in bed, walk minimally, not drive, and to basically just wait and see how things go.
Once again thank you so much for all of your support, the money that everyone has donated has helped tremendously with expenses and was way more than we anticipated and we are so grateful for the care and love that you’ve shown. ❤️

Hi, my name is Julianna and I am starting this fundraiser to help Nathan Carroll and his parents out with the medical expenses from a recent serious injury.
On Tuesday February 28th, Nathan was outside skating a rail and enjoying doing his passion on a nice day. While doing a board slide Nathan’s skateboard came out from under him and he landed directly on the rail straddling it. He immediately felt severe pain and started gushing blood and had to rush to the emergency room. The emergency room consisted of a horrific 5 hour wait in an extremely packed ER where Nathan was in severe pain, could barely sit up, and was gushing blood through his jeans all over the waiting area chairs.
After finally getting some attention when the staff saw the severity of his bleeding, he was admitted into a room. Shortly after being put into a room, he had to have a catheter and camera scope inserted while on minimal pain medication which was excruciatingly painful for him. “The worst pain of my life.”
He lost a lot of blood on the first day and if the bleeding did not calm down the option of exploratory surgery was being proposed.
At this point (March 2nd, 2023) Nathan has spent 2 nights in the hospital being closely monitored and may have to spend a 3rd night if the bleeding does not stop significantly.
When he is released he will have to be out of work for around 6 weeks or longer. He will have to have the catheter in that whole time and will be on bed rest with minimal walking.
He may still need to have surgery after the catheter is removed depending on if he continues to have any issues / if the scar tissue in his urethra has built up too much due to the severity of the injury.
Right now he is just in the beginning of the healing process and it will take time before knowing what exactly will need to be done. As of March 1st his medical bill was at $13,000. I am setting this up to help minimize any extra stress on him or his family after this traumatic injury along with a little bit of help with any future medical expenses + the added expense of having to miss work and be on bedrest. The goal is 20k but anything would be greatly appreciated.
