My name is Duyen Cao. I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful girls. I came to the United States as a refugee from VN. I lived in three refugee camps before coming to the United States. I had witnessed many sufferings adults and children endured. At the same time I had received many blessings on the way. One of them was the blessing of medical attentions I received from the nurses. They left a deep impression in my heart. I wanted to be a nurse. I graduated with a BSN in 1998. My nursing specialties including burn and trauma, renal transplant and renal medicines. I have been working at one of the best hospitals in the country. But my heart always longing to serve the less fortunate and give back what I had received.
I am proud to be a part of Volunteers in Medical Mission, a charitable organization established in 1986. VIMM has sent volunteers to many countries, such as Haiti, Tanzania, Ecuador, and Honduras, to name a few. In October we will travel to Belize for seven days. Each day we will travel to a different village and provide medical services to approximately 150 to 300 people per day.
I am writing to ask for your generosity to donate your hard earned money aid the people of Belize. Your contribution of $50 to $100 or any amount you can offer will make a difference in the lives of so many people. A heartfelt thank you for your generosity. God Bless.
