Gone but not Forgotten...R.I.P. Lou

​As some of you may or may not know, on Feb. 18, 2015 one of our fellow softball family members received the most heart-wrenching news of her life. Her husband and father of their four girls had just passed away due to complications from acute pancreatitis. In an instant Paula Elliano’s life would forever change and she would have to look at their four girls, Amber (13) Kylie (11) Trinity (9) and Cassidy (6), and tell them their daddy was now watching over them from above. Like many of you, I have personally had the privilege of playing with Paula and also the honor of being her friend. The amount of strength Paula has exuded through this tragedy is beyond captivating. She has smiled, cried, and laughed, but never once has she complained, blamed, or shut-down when for many it would be so easy to do. I am inviting all of you in the softball community to come together to help a fellow player and family member in a time that she might not admit she needs, but we all know can’t do alone and shouldn’t have to. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 Donations will be accepted at Vets Memorial Softball Complex ( next to Palo Verde High School) starting at 6:30pm-8:30pm. At 9:00pm Donations will be accepted at Distill in Summerlin ( across from Red Rock) in honor of Lou, but also for our teammate and her four beautiful girls. Any amount will help and even if its just the spare dollar in the console of your car it will help Paula and her girls. Let’s do this for the Elliano girls!
