Hi, my name is Brooke and I am starting this fundraiser to help raise money to support Tony, Sina & Anissa during this difficult time. On December 21st Tony went to the ER with pain on his right side, the CT showed blood clots in one lung in addition to a mass in his other lung. Many doctor visits, scans and labs later, his final diagnosis was adenocarcinoma of the lung- lung cancer that has spread to his lymph nodes. The most recent scans revealed that the cancer has not spread beyond that, but we also learned that he had a small stroke, which explains why he has been feeling dizzy and having issues with his vision. On top of all of that Sina just started a new job and her PTO is not available yet, so she has had to take off many days in order to be at Tonys appointments- all unpaid. Many people refer to Tony & Sina as mom and dad, they are always willing to help anyone in need at any given time. They have owned Snowballs Bar since 2018, and since that time they have graciously taken it upon themselves to organize many benefits to help raise money for people who have fallen ill due to disease, or lost family members. Tony has been part of the Derby community from a very young age, building cars with his brother Terry, cousin Jeremy and many other friends. Now Tony gives back to the Derby community by being a sponsor, rather than driving. Alongside his parents Bonnie and Ray Peterson, they also have held the Trimbelle Tractor Show. Tony and Sina have become second parents to me and have been there to help me and so many others in times of need without being asked, they have shown time and time again how selfless and genuinely caring they are for everyone they know and I would love to do what I can to help give back to them in these times of need. Cancer doesn't care if you have a family, own a business, have a mortgage or a child in college. It brings nothing but stress, anger, helplessness and uncertainty of what the future holds. I am asking us all to come together as a community and give back to a family who deserves it wholeheartedly!
