Toivy is a lovely 6 year old boy with severe Autism.
He is severely delayed in all areas of development and requires intensive therapy and constant supervision.
We recently moved from Monroe to Brooklyn so we can send him to the best school in NYC for children with autism, The Rebecca School, which is a private school who charges $120k per year and we have to fight the NYC Board of Ed they should pay for it.
This fight reoccurs annually and even if we win, most people do, not all of the costs are covered, including the lawyer fees.
And then there's Camp.
As you can see in the photo I posted, Toivy went to Camp Migdal last year and they did the most amazing work with him there.
Not only was it a much needed break for us, his parents and siblings, who work tirelessly with him all year, day and night to make sure he's happy and safe, but they have great staff who are truly dedicated and devoted to help make the children's summer both therapeutic and fun at the same time, and they totally succeeded.
Toivy has come a long way this year in school, and we look forward for a great summer and then continue next year in school.
Camp costs close to $12,000 and between school and lawyer fees close to $10,000 I'm trying to raise $20,000 so we can continue Improving Toivy's life as it has in the past year.
I have a good job and make a decent wage but because of that, we are not eligible for many of the government help out there and I find myself struggling to go on.
As his parents, we won't stop at anything in helping him reach his most potential, and we're asking for your generosity in our fight and efforts.
