Hi everyone, my name is Daniela.

Anyone who knows me knows I love my cats like family. I’ve had Ty since 2018 when he was a kitten. He’s been with me through motherhood, moving from different states, thick and thin, always sleeping by my side and following me everywhere.

Recently, Ty’s health declined and his behavior changed. He became extremely agitated, food aggressive, and he started hiding throughout the house.

He used to be roughly 12 pounds, and now he’s only 5 pounds. He’s been ravenously hungry but losing weight and developed chronic diarrhea. When it turned into straight liquid with blood, I rushed him to the vet.

The initial emergency visit cost $1,142.27, which is a huge financial hit for me.

As a single mom & sole provider living in NYC with around $4,000 in monthly living costs, this put me into a really overwhelming situation.

Ty was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, which is a lifelong illness requiring monitoring. He was also diagnosed with IBS and is experiencing severe malnutrition as a result of IBS + hyperthyroidism.

To nurse him back to health, he now needs

* A $465 abdominal ultrasound (Initial bloodwork showed elevated liver enzymes, XR showed inflammation of the GI tract)

* Ongoing thyroid panels to monitor him

* GI medication + thyroid medication

* Regular recheck visits

* A prescription GI food that costs $48 for a 6-lb bag every month, plus special wet food, Purina EN

I work hard and take care of my child and my 3 rescue cats, but I can’t keep up with the cost of his long-term medical care alone. I’m trying everything I can to stabilize him, help him gain weight, and give him the chance to live a healthy, comfortable life.
