Kari Brown's Road to Recovery

As many of you know on February 5, 2015 our dear friend, sister, stylist-extraordinaire Kari Erickson Brown was met with one of the biggest challenges she may ever face. A hemangioma (an abnormal build-up of blood vessels) on Kari's brain ruptured causing trauma to all brain function including her ability walk, talk, and to see properly.  This distress brought on severe pain and confusion leading to emergency brain surgery that left her with over 20 cranial sutures and what she calls "a bad haircut."  Needless to say, humor has not escaped this woman and with a positive attitude and the encouragement of her awesome family and her fantastic friends she WILL CONQUER this! However, this ordeal for Kari doesn't end with some stitches and a shaved head. Her road to recovery (walking, jogging!, driving, memory function, running her business, WORKING...you get the idea) is long and arduous and I am asking you to join me in support of this family in their time of need.
To use Mike's words: "we continue to be in awe of all the prayers, help and support from family and friends."
Let's not stop now.  
Events such as this leave indelible, emotional marks on all of us, and even more so on the ones who are closest to Kari. Certain "marks" we can help with by donating money today to help cover expenses while Mike(nurse) and Kari(most-of-the-time-agreeable patient) are not working.  
So much has happened to the Brown Family in recent months and while there is plenty to be thankful for there is so much to be accomplished before Kari regains full health and independence.
Today's (2/28/15) accomplishment: Kari made her own sandwich. Yup. A sandwich. Amen.
