Hi Everyone!
No more donations for my husband please! Ed and I appreciate all of you who have tried to help! NFL let one of their own down…..without a second thought!
From the original page:”I’m Edward Cooke, but you might know me as a former defensive end for the New York Titans, New York Jets, Denver Broncos, the Miami Dolphins, and the Baltimore Colts where I won a championship ring.
In my nine seasons in the NFL, I fought for my team, but now it’s too late. What you might not know is that I was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. I ran out of NFL Player Care benefits on December 8, 2021, and I urgently need financial help in paying for my medical treatments. As the disease worsens, it will get more expensive to pay for these costs.”

NFL was not there for a former player. Having to use public transport, etc. we faced interaction with the public for the first time during the COVID pandemic. We had been able to keep Ed isolated previously using only a small circle of personnel. My beloved husband Ed Cooke passed away on February 6, 2022 from COVID. Ed and I were vaccinated, twice, and both of us had boosters.
From the previous,” I do not have any caregivers because of the expense this incurs. It is $13,440.00 per month for caregivers, but I need caregivers from now until April 1, 2022 when my NFL Player Care benefits resume.”
what a shame! NFL…..”we take care of our own”……really!
