Help Max come home

Max is our beautiful 7 year old Golden Retriever. He’s the goofy sweetheart part of our family and so well loved, but we’re not the only ones. He’s also part of my work family. He can often be found around the PCF offices, delivering mail and reversing himself in for butt scratches. 

Recently our beautiful boy has been sick. It started off as what we thought was a fairly simple bacterial infection. Antibiotics and diet were going to sort it out. But it didn’t. Monday night Max wouldn’t eat. Tuesday he was at the vet and he hasn’t come home since. Not knowing what was wrong he was transferred to a specialist centre. Right now we only know that his blood platelet count is dangerously low, but not why. 

We would give anything to keep our Max happy and healthy, but we only have so much to give. His vet bills have been almost $5000 so far. The CT scan will be another $3300, with the specialist centre costing up to $800-$1000 per 12 hours. I’m really not expecting to have his bills covered, at this point anything will help. Max is a very well loved boy, we need to try everything we can to get him happy, healthy, goofy and back home again. 

Without this little guy, I probably wouldn't be around to type this. He was there when I was in my darkest places, and he was the reason I got out of bed some days.

Working with my partner, Max, has also touched the lives of so many people with disabilities or going through tough times. He is the brightest part of many people's days, and the help has given them is irreplaceable.

Unfortunately, due to many things stacked against us, our accounts are tapped, and the bills for Max are piling up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I usually hate asking people for help but, it isn't for me; it is for max.
