Colin and I have had the absolute privilege of loving and caring for Annabelle over the last (nearly) 8 years. On Sunday she started acting lethargic and wouldn’t stop shaking. After a visit to the emergency vet and some tests with our family veterinarian, we found out that she has a 3.2cm mass on her liver/spleen, which is likely cancerous. Our veterinarian said that if she was any older or in worse condition that they would suggest euthanasia, but since she’s in good spirits and doesn’t have an active bleed they believe emergency surgery could be her best option at survival.
As some people may know, I am around 6 weeks postpartum with a beautiful baby girl. Annabelle has been so sweet towards her and we even make jokes that she’ll be babysitting her in no time.
With that being said, on top of our current medical bills, we expect around $10,000 for a surgery to save our first baby Annabelle.
We are not the kind of people to ask for help with anything, we believe that we are responsible for the choices we make in life. But this is a shocking and heartbreaking turn of events, especially so soon after having our first child. We simply cannot lose our first born.
Annabelle has brought so much happiness to everyone she meets and deserves to be in this world for a while longer. If there is any chance that you can contribute to her care at this time (even something small) it would be so greatly appreciated.
She is one of the biggest blessings we’ve ever had. We want to see her grow old with our sweet baby girl.
We will continue to update as things progress in terms of surgery and her hospital stay afterwards.
I would also like to give everyone a huge thank you for loving our sweet girl just as much as Colin and I.
