Dolores and Ted Robu need our help

Dear Family, Friends, and Friends of Friends,

I am writing to ask for your help and support for my dear friends Dolores and Ted Robu. As many of you know, Ted has been diagnosed with stage 4-metastasized colorectal cancer. He has undergone numerous surgeries and is currently in his 4th series of chemotherapy treatments at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona.

The mounting expenses associated with these treatments, along with the cost of overnight lodging, transportation, and necessary supplies and medication, have created financial difficulties for Dolores and Ted. Despite their diligent planning for their retirement finances, they are now struggling to make ends meet and are facing mounting bills.

Due to his treatments and surgeries, Ted's health has been reduced, making it impossible for him to work. This, coupled with the mounting medical expenses, has left Ted and Dolores unable to pay for basic necessities. They never expected that at 67, Ted would be diagnosed with a terminal illness. They never planned for such a difficult turn of events, as they are a semi-retired couple.

Dolores and Ted are known for their selflessness and generosity, always going above and beyond to serve their community. Dolores worked as a grief therapist for 40 years in hospices, hospitals, and schools. Ted has continued to be a therapeutic massage practitioner. They have dedicated their lives to helping and healing others. Since retiring, they have focused on bringing a sense of wellness to their community.

In her community, Dolores has been instrumental in organizing the Health Night Out speakers' bureau and the annual health fair for the last 24 years, which provides opportunities for Saddlebrooke residents and healthcare professionals. She also started and manages a weekly bereavement group for Saddlebrooke residents who have lost loved ones.

Ted has been a gold medal athlete in the Senior Olympics since he was 50 and is a star performer in the variety show. He is a massage therapist who always made himself available to the injured in the area.

Their bank accounts are dwindling, and they are looking for help.

I have been blessed to call Dolores and Ted friends for over 25 years. They have been a constant source of support and compassion for me and my family. They have been there for us every step of the way, and we want to be there for them now.

I understand that Dolores and Ted are proud and self-reliant people who may not be comfortable asking for help, but seeing what my dear friends are going through now, I cannot stand idly by. I implore you to open your hearts and donate to their GoFundMe account to help them with the overwhelming expenses and to support Ted's ongoing treatment. Any donation, no matter how large or small, would be greatly appreciated.

I also ask for your prayers for Dolores and Ted during this trying time.
