Dear, Sweet Fans of The Almond Sisters Bakery...
I know you all have been anxiously awaiting the completion of the bakery in Downtown Hamilton! We are very excited to get closer and closer to our Grand Opening. When is that, you ask? With the delays of construction, the goal is officially October 1st. (Which also happens to be my 10 year wedding anniversary!)
OK. Here is what we are humbly asking...
$10, 000.
We still have build out (using the creative talents of local Hamilton business Unsung Salvage Design Co.), several pieces of equipment to purchase (2 handwashing/prep sinks, 3-bay sink, faucet, sprayer, grease trap, some racks), startup ingredients for the first month of operation, and any other bumps that could come our way.
The bakery has been extremely successful in the past several years, starting form the ground up.
In 2012, we started our adventure setting up at the Hamilton's Historic Farmer's Market in downtown Hamilton selling muffins, cookies and breads. With the growing attention and amazing feedback from customers, we wrapped up two years of overwhelming success! An opportunity to fully operate in our own location came in the late Spring of 2014.
We set up inside the desolate, dying Cincinnati Mills Mall in Forest Park, Ohio for a year. Executing the plans laid out in our business plan, the goal was to gain experience in every aspect as well as obtain leftover equipment from a previous cookie bakery. Even though the mall was a dying location, the bakery thrived.
The response was again, overwhelming. People simply love the handcrafted, original recipes of the bakery! We were able to introduce more products, as well as test the market and general public. We learned a lot of understanding for business operations, made mistakes and it resulted in hugely positive success!
As many of you know, the goal has always been to open in Hamilton. We are ALMOST THERE!!!
It's been a lovely adventure so far, and we are thrilled to begin the next adventure in Hamilton!
Will you help us get to this goal?
We are trying to put together some incentives (t-shirts, custom cutting boards, loyalty rewards for donors).
Please join us in being a part of the legacy and redevelopment of downtown Hamilton, Ohio!!
Being born and raised in Hamilton and raising our family here, we are thrilled to invest in our hometown!
