Arne-Koerber House Fire Recovery

Donation protected
Hello, we are Cindy and Chrissy. Our middle sister Jennifer Koerber Arne and her family lost their home today (3/14/22), in a house fire in Holt, FL. She is a Fire Marshall and my Brother-in-law, Glen Arne, is a Vocational Ed Teacher. They are both volunteer firefighters for their local volunteer department. After assisting in hundreds of situations where fire has destroyed homes and property, they never thought they’d stand in their own front yard watching their lives go up in flames. Two of their four children, who still live at home, lost everything as well. Including one niece who graduates from high school in May and our other niece who was preparing to move out into her own place with her 1 year old. Everything is gone except for the clothes on their backs. Their dogs were saved but as of now, their 2 hairless cats have not been recovered. By the Grace of God, no one was home at the time.
Our family is asking for help in getting them back on their feet. They would never ask for themselves but they need it. We can’t do much for the family heirlooms, awards or baby pictures that are gone but the other stuff can be replaced. That’s the purpose of this request. They’ll need temporary housing, clothes, food, and basic necessities while they figure out next steps. The rebuilding process will be long, hard, and expensive. Even if you can’t contribute monetarily, your prayers and thoughts will be coveted.

Thank you for your generosity,
Cindy Koerber Boatner & Chrissy Koerber Hartley

UPDATE: On my sister and her family (3/15/22)
Day 1 after the fire and they are slowly coming out of their shock. They were able to look around a little today and find 1 or 2 items that could be salvaged. Sadly it’s a total loss. They are also working today to find a place to stay for a while and replace some necessary things. There have been many requests to donate items, but for now they have nowhere to put those types of things. The best way to help right now is monetarily, so they can pay to get into a place to stay, buy gift cards for restaurants and groceries (once they can cook again) and clothes. After things have settled a bit and there is more of an idea regarding the needs, we will post what type of donations and where they can be delivered. In the meantime, here is the go fund me account. Any amount is a help and sharing this is helpful as well.
We are grateful for all the help so far with toiletries, replacing my niece’s prom dress and her laptop for school. The outpouring of assistance, prayers and words of encouragement have been wonderful!
On behalf of the Arnes and Koerbers, Thank you!
