Hi, my name is Casper, I am 2 years old and I live with my mum and my two brothers, I am a very patient, gentle and a loving companion ❤️
I enjoy jumping, climbing and hunting mice, or I used to, over the past few months I’ve developed a limp and I am in chronic pain around my hips. My mum took me to the vets, it was scary but I was really brave, they gave me something to make me sleepy and took some x-rays. I have a femoral head irregularity!?
Femoral head irregularity refers to an abnormal shape of the ball-shaped portion of the femur (thigh bone) that fits into the hip socket. This irregularity can lead to femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), where the irregular shape causes the femoral head to rub against the acetabulum (hip socket) during movement, potentially damaging the labrum (cartilage ring around the socket) and causing paibasically they want to remove my hip joints
Basically, the vets want to remove my hip joints! It’s okay though, cats, unlike dogs are pretty cool in that they develop ligaments and muscles in place of the hip joint! This will allow me to go back to my life in the wild (back garden, mum has a love/hate relationship with the lawn mower) and playing with my friends, living my life to the fullest for the rest of my long years, hopefully…
Now, more on mum, she’s busy, my two brothers keep her on her toes, they are some naughty little human boys! She works, she looks after the house and keeps us all safe, unfortunately mums not had an easy few years and she managed to forget to get pet insurance for me this is why I need your help….
