We are reaching out to share a difficult update regarding our sister, Sydney Dewitt, and to humbly request your support following a senseless tragedy. While heroically acting to protect her friends, Sydney was the victim of a random act of violence. She is currently fighting through the most significant challenge of her life after sustaining multiple injuries.

To those who know her, Sydney is an outgoing, vibrant, and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. A former basketball player with a wonderful sense of humor, she has dedicated her time to coaching and mentoring youth at our local parks and throughout the community.

Sydney has spent her life pouring into others; now, she needs us to pour that same love back into her.

The road to recovery will be long and arduous. Sydney is currently unable to return to work. Beyond the long term care, this tragedy has placed an immense weight on our family. Sydney’s mother is currently managing the day-to-day burdens of this crisis, including travel, meals, and the various unexpected costs associated with long-term hospital care and rehabilitation.

Every contribution will go directly toward Sydney’s rehabilitation and the family’s immediate needs as she fights to return to her life and the children she loves.
