Yesterday morning, I received a phone call from a hospital in California. Unexpectedly, I was informed that my father passed away the night before on February 23, 2020. After crying what feels like every last tear from my eyes, I am now left without words and a broken heart as I have to process what comes next.
My father had been struggling with various health problems throughout the past several months, but he has always pulled through so we prayed he would continue to recover. It never really hit me that one day the death of my father would actually happen. I thought I would have more time to prepare for it. Now, at 22 years old I have to bury my father. His wishes were to be cremated and be spread somewhere beautiful, so that is my ultimate goal for creating this Go Fund Me.
The local crematory where he passed can have him cremated and sent to be with me for $1100. Due to this being such an unexpected death, my husband and I are unable to financially prepare for this cost on our own. To make matters worse, the morgue at the hospital where my father passed is currently full and he needs to be transferred and cremated as soon as possible or else the hospital will send his body to be cremated with other bodies and there will be no trace of his remains.
My family and I are completely shocked and devastated by this news and are taking time to grieve this loss, but also are trying to celebrate his life. I don't want my father to be treated like he was forgotten, but due to numerous circumstances, I do not have much physically to remember him by. Your contribution to this campaign will help me be able to afford the cost to have my father cremated and sent up to me so that he can be honored and remembered.
Thank you so much to everyone who is there for me during this sad time. If you are unable to contribute financially, your thoughts and prayers are also greatly appreciated.
