Hello Everyone,

My name is Nichole, I am starting this go fund me on behalf of my best friend, my nephew and their family. Currently my Nephew is admitted to the hospital and in a mental health crisis and waiting for a bed in an inpatient facility, which could be a bit until a bed is available, also they require a guardian to be there with him at all times. That being said, his mom cannot work because she is tending to the needs of her son and trying to get him the help she can. In order to do that, she cant work right now which is a huge stresser for her and her family on top of it all. They live in New Hampshire and he is in a hospital in Massachusetts, the commute alone is rough but the insurance is even worse. Due to the fact that he is in a Massachusetts hospital, his NH medicaid will not cover the hospital bill, now putting them in a huge financial situation and worried that will also effect the care he is able to get.

I am putting this together for them so that they can help my Nephew in his Mental health crisis without worrying how they will cover the hospital bills, or their mortgage or putting food on the table in a time when they need to have their focus on him with out stressing about everything else.

So as an Auntie of a beautiful, loving, fun sweet boy, i am asking for all of your help in helping them.

I have also put in here a message from his Mama saying exactly what is going on so there is a better understanding.

He deserves all the help he can get so that he can live a beautiful life that he deserves.

Anything is appreciated, and if you cant donate please share.

We are also hoping to spread awareness of mental health and mental health in children especially when they are in Crisis mode, there are so little options for help for them and we need to make a difference as much as we can!

Thank you so much for even taking the time to read!

Hi everyone,
For those who don’t know me my name is Stephany. I am a mom of two boys, Noah who is 8 and Landon who is 3.5 and I am about to become very vulnerable with people who know me but may not know my situation as well as strangers.

Noah has struggled since he was a baby. At 3 months old he began receiving early intervention for not having full rotation of his neck and this was just the beginning. He was colic, he had a milk allergy, and severe acid reflux. He remained in EI until he aged out at 3. Throughout those 3 years he began to show more signs of struggle with both speech and behavior. I utilized all resources given to me, including outpatient speech therapy , OT therapy, as well as having neuropsych testing done at just 2.5 years old. He was in daycare where his aggressive behaviors toward others became so much more apparent. The neuropsych determined ADHD with the possibility of ODD (oppositional defiant disorder).

I was extremely lucky to have the support system I did during these times, especially his daycare who never once expelled him as they knew I was doing everything I could. Let’s fast forward some years, he’s been in many therapy programs as well as under multiple different doctors care from psychiatric to neurological.  He went for a second neuropsych in February 2020 confirming ADHD, adding ASD (autism spectrum disorder), DMDD (disruptive mood dysregulation disorder- which is bipolar in children) ODD, sensory issues and anxiety/depression. He has run through every stimulant they make to manage his adhd and severe impulse control as well as most age appropriate mood disorder medications.

He went inpatient early April for a medication wash as he was on 7 different medications; clearly nothing was working. He did 5 weeks in there to be discharged on only 2 meds. I figured that was a godsend in itself! I also thought that was the answer to our prayers, he was finally on the right track.

Well, my schedule can be hectic so scheduling therapy, functional support therapy and psychiatric visits weekly/monthly while maintaining him in school made it very trying and we made it work the best we could. Unfortunately, months have gone by since that stay where he remains a medical mystery in the sense of NOTHING is working. He’s no longer able to attend the public school here as his behavior is too unsafe and he was being stuck in a classroom alone with just an aid. They placed him in a new school this year where they are more specialized in his behaviors, 3 days in he was running out of the school climbing on a staff members car trying to kick the headlights out. One week after that, he was suspended for more intense and unsafe behaviors. Just that morning i had met with his psych doctor who has been adding some medications with the hope something would work (trial and error is an effing bit*h I tell you!) but we ended ourself right back in the emergency room where he was admitted on 9/15/21 after drawing some really intense pictures proposing death upon his family at his therapists office. He waited in there 15 days for a bed to open up at a pediatric inpatient facility, sad to say one never opened up and the near future wasn’t looking promising. So, I was faced with the decision to discharge him and was told to continue to manage this with outpatient. He was discharged 9/30.

He had a great two weeks home, scared to go back to that hospital (which was great in its own way)then, that third week he began to fluctuate with behaviors again but we were taking them and dealing with them as they came until, last Sunday 10/24. He was given a consequence for his actions of which he did NOT like. We were driving home where he unbuckled himself and began performing some very unsafe behaviors toward both myself and his brother. So i had to pull over on 95 for all of our safety. I couldn’t get him under control so i had no choice but to call 911. The state trooper determined he needed to be brought in by ambulance and with where we were on the highway we went to our closest option. I was actually ecstatic considering I’ve heard amazing things about this place and their inpatient program. Well, we’re still here, waiting AND it could be another week or two before placement.

It has NOT been a pleasant stay in the sense of him experiencing manic episodes where he’s physically and verbally abused myself and the staff (They require a guardian be here at all times). I debated on this gofundme back when he was admitted 3 weeks ago to be able to take an leave of absence  once he was released to focus on his outpatient care. I have only been back at my job in NH since March and I don’t qualify for any paid leave. However, since the situation changed and he came home sooner than we thought we made it through and dropped the thought of this. I never expected us to be back in another ER after just 3.5 short weeks from his last discharge but here we are and now I’m truly unable to work. My main focus needs to be with him right now. We have a great support system behind us, but we truly can’t afford not to work. We can’t live off of one paycheck, especially with him being in a MA hospital where his NH Medicaid will not pick up the deductible/co insurance i am going to be billed for. So here I am, spilling my truth to the world begging for some help. Im embarrassed to feel like a “charity” case but I’m at a complete loss, looking for a little bit of hope. i would give anything to get my son the help he needs.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my struggle and for any help you may have to offer, even if it’s just advice! My goal is to use this toward any medical bills he may inquire or financial set backs we may experience due to me being out of work. Anything left over (after a small gratitude is giving to these wonderful ER nurses here) will be donated to a children’s mental health awareness organization. The lack of availability for children in crisis is absolutely disgusting. It is a necessity to start doing more for these children! I am done being the parent on the other end hoping, wishing, and praying. I am going to start being a part of the solution!

Thank you for the bottom of my heart
