Love for Lindsey’s Leukemia Fund

October 15, 2018, the day that changed her life....

This is about my beautiful friend Lindsey and her journey to a diagnosis that they are still trying to swallow.

If you have ever met someone who is kind, gentle, loving, would give anything to help, but takes no shit kind of person, then you’ve met a Lindsey. But that’s only half. She is an amazing mom to two beautiful children and a wonderful devoted wife to her husband, Joey. They are her life and she is theirs.

October 13th:
Lindsey woke up feeling extremely dizzy with a BP reading that was scary enough to send her to the emergency room . Upon check in, vitals were obtained and her BP had increased, but Lindsey was sent home with no answers.

October 14th: Lindsey woke up early with stabbing pains in her left lung/chest area and complaints that it was hard to breathe. Her husband took her back to the hospital where they took xrays and blood work.
X-rays revealed an enlarged spleen and blood work came back off... very off. I believe the term the nurse used was “wonky.” After 8 long hours, and still no answers, they were about to be discharged with the recommendation that she see a hematologist the following week. Lindsey became overheated and after removing her socks, she noticed her feet were bruised. Her husbands concern grew and before they left the hospital he demanded a second look and opinion. After a second Dr. was consulted, they decided to transport her via ambulance to a different hospital about 45 minutes away.

October 15th: The dreaded day..
After Lindsey was poked, prodded, and more test were done, she was admitted to the oncology department with a diagnosis of Leukemia... f*cking cancer.. How? Why? When? We still don’t know all the answers and may never know why.. but we do know she will fight with all she has to beat this and show cancer who’s boss.

Lindsey is still awaiting an official diagnosis  but her team of Drs believe she has” ALL”
(Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia).

Things have been rough...
since being admitted, her platelets have been too low to run more tests which is needed to determine a course of treatment. She has had 7+ transfusions with anticipation of many more to come. Chemotherapy will begin as soon as her body is well enough to handle it. She has already been told she will be in the hospital for several months and in and out over the course of the next 2 years.

The donations will be used to help offset the financial stress and burden that’s to come. The money will be used for the insurance deductible and all out of pocket medical expenses that insurance won’t cover, missed wages, meals and childcare for their children, daily parking for her husband and immediate family, and travel expenses. Thank you for all your help and for sharing her story!

Thank you all so much!!
