Hello everyone! Today I am reaching out for a little help for Joan Culver. She was diagnosed with a tumor in October of last year along with brain aneurysms. The first person to ever have this. The tumor was holding the brain aneurysms in place which saved her life. It took the doctors over a week to figure out how to do the high risk surgery as safe as possible. The surgery was rough but Joan was strong and pulled through. But unfortunately the hospital made a mistake. The piece of Joan’s skull the hospital removed was contaminated. It had bacteria on it. But yet they replaced back in Joan’s head. For 5 months after the surgery she was in excruciating pain but yet still continued to go to work since she is the only income in her household. She went to the doctor multiple times who told her it wasn’t a big deal it’s just healing. After 5 months Joan could no longer take the pain and was rushed to the hospital. While there they found out Joan has a bacterial infection in her muscles surrounding the area the tumor was removed. She was rushed in for emergency surgery where they removed the infected part of her skull and muscle. She has been placed on antibiotics through a pick line and remains in a rehabilitation facility until further notice. The doctors have to wait until the infection is completely gone before they can go back in and replace the piece of the skull that was removed. In the meantime Joan is not allowed to work which has caused a financial strain for her household. We don’t need her to stress over bills so we are asking for help. At this time we just want Joan to focus on getting better so she can come home. She has a long road to go still as doctors are saying it can be 6 months or longer before they can operate again due to the infection being so bad. So in the meantime we are raising money to help Joan out as much as we can. We appreciate all the love, support and prayers. Joan continues to fight and stay strong!
