Widow Lost Husband and Daughter

Donation protected
Four years ago, a close family friend of ours named Kevin, passed away after a two-year battle with stomach cancer at just 49 years old, leaving behind his wife Kate and twin girls Ashley and Amanda, and Ashley’s 4-year old son, Jack. Kevin was truly loved by everyone who knew him. His sense of humor and love for life shone through even as he suffered through the terrible side effects of chemotherapy. He is so badly missed.
Ashley became a mom to Jack when she was just 19 years old, and everybody instantly fell in love. Jack became Ashley’s everything. Just 8 months after Kevin died, Ashley was killed in a car accident on her way back from work one evening. Kate and Amanda were in complete and total shock. They had just barely started adjusting to the new normal of life without Kevin, and now they would be forced to explain to Jack that his mommy was never coming home. Amanda told me that the night Ashley died, she held her nephew in her arms as he sobbed for hours for his mommy. Jack and Ashley had the sweetest relationship. She couldn’t have been a more loving, devoted single mother to little Jack. She was just 23 years-old when her life was cut short.
Although Jack still misses his mommy and loves hearing stories about her, he has thrived and is turning out to be sweet, smart, and funny, just like her. Jack is very close with Kate and Amanda. Kate has been helping to raise Jack since the day he was born. Despite their incredible bond, Kate is now in a terrible custody battle with somebody from Jack’s dad’s side of the family. She has already spent thousands of dollars in legal fees and the battle isn’t over yet.
Seeing somebody trying to take Jack away from the family who’s loved and nurtured him since the day he was born is absolutely gut-wrenching. This family simply wants to continue loving Jack and keeping the memory of his mother alive in his heart. I realize that $20,000 is a lot of money, and that’s exactly why they need your help. My hope is that this could reach enough people that even a 5 or 10-dollar donation will help them reach their goal. They need the money by November 25th, which I realize is soon, so if you can help even just by sharing this on social media I know Kate and Amanda will be eternally grateful. Ashley is not here to fight for her son, and Kate and Amanda are just trying to do that on her behalf. Just imagine… if you had lost your husband and daughter in the same year… your dad and sister… and then were faced with the possibility of her legacy being torn away from your family. This family has suffered enough and I want it to finally be over for them.
Whatever you can do to help will be appreciated more than you can possibly imagine. Thank you.
